Who’ll Cast the First Stone

The sky burned red on the day dread/Where mercy’s seldom seen

They brought her out to the edge of town/And buried her waist deep

 

And the young men ran to gather up their stones/On judgement day they’ll dam her flesh and bones

Who’ll cast the first stone

 

 

Then came a man they knew not well/Their lives at His command

As the woman begged and pleaded life/He traced names in the sand

 

 

They stood right still as Jesus let them know/Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone

Who’ll cast the first stone

 

 

And well today not much has changed/The world is still in chains

The hypocrites run to the ridge/As soon as soon as they smell prey

 

 

The men still run to gather up their stones/Come judgement day they’ll reap what they have sewn

Who’ll cast the first stone

 

 

They’ll stand right still as Jesus lets them know/Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone
